Georgaki Polyxeni

Polyxeni Georgaki is a graduate of the Department of History and Archeology of the Philosophy School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, majoring in Archeology and History of Art. She received a master's degree specializing in "Protection - Maintenance - Restoration of Cultural Monuments" from the Polytechnic School of Athens, graduating first with an I.K.Y. commendation scholarship.

Afterwards, he was awarded a doctorate by the Department of Architects of the Polytechnic School (Division 4 of History of Architecture, History of Art, Architectural Morphology and Restoration) with honors.

She has worked for fifteen years at the Ministry of Culture, with the specialty of archaeologist, covering every field of archaeological work (excavation, supervision, study - arrangement of archaeological material, recording - documentation, digital documentation, restoration work, educational activities), in numerous excavation programs . Indicative: Excavation of the Ancient Agora of Thessaloniki, excavation of the Petros of the Prefecture of Florina, rescue excavations of Egnatia Odos SA, re-exhibition of the Museum of Ancient Olympia, "Excavation of the Ancient Theater of Philippi", Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, "Reconstruction of Lake Karla".

He also worked in the Digitization and Promotion of the "Toni Spiteri" Archive at the Telloglio Arts Foundation of the University of Athens, where he assumed -then- the position of responsibility for the Public Education Programs.

He participated, with individual and group announcements and publications, in scientific symposia, workshops, conferences in Greece and abroad, with the subject of archaeology, the promotion-highlight-restoration of cultural monuments, as well as museum education for adults.

From 2013 onwards teaches in various theoretical fields of the DPMS "Protection - Maintenance - Restoration of Cultural Monuments", at the Polytechnic School of AUTH.
