Academic Position:
Professor Emeritus, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 1979 he teaches at the School of Architecture of the A.U.Th., courses on the restoration of historic buildings and ensembles, while since 1998 he teaches at the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program: Protection, Conservation, Restoration of Cultural Monuments of the School of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and other relevant postgraduate programmes in Greece and abroad. His research interests focus on theoretical and methodological issues related to the restoration and reuse of historic buildings, the revitalization and regeneration of historic ensembles and areas, the study of historic building systems and architectural design in historic environments. Also through research projects, intensive workshops and seminars, it explores issues related to the documentation, management and redesign of architectural heritage. His research studies and projects have been published in edited volumes, in proceedings of national and international conferences and in scientific journals.
Since 1974 he has been involved in projects and research studies on the restoration of historic buildings and ensembles. His projects and research studies have been published in proceedings of international and national conferences. His applied work has been exhibited in Greece and abroad and has been awarded international prizes.
