CONSOLIDANTS AND ADHESIVES. SOLUBILITY AND COMATIBILITY OF MATERIALS
Goal of the Course:
In the first part, the properties and the methods of characterization, application and evaluation of consolidants and adhesive materials, which are used in works of art and cultural monuments, are presented. In the second part of the course, the modern theory of solubility, methodologies for the selection of appropriate solvents and cleaning techniques of artworks are included.
Learning Objectives:
Gain experience in consolidation, adhesion and cleaning and understand the challenges when applying them to works of art.
