Angelos Papageorgiou was born in Ioannina in 1961 and studied architecture at the Aristotle University. In Thessaloniki he collaborated with professors Lois Papadopoulos and Giorgos Papakostas in the study of the Municipal Theater of Kalamaria and with professor Dimitris Fatouros in the expansion studies of the Archaeological Museums of Philippi and Kavala.
In Ioannina, with the architect Giorgos Papageorgiou, they are active in a wide range of studies of public buildings and spaces, restoration of monuments and ensembles, while he participated in national and international architectural urban design competitions.
In March 2015, he was elected associate professor of architectural and urban planning at the School of Architecture of the University of Ioannina.
In 2016, he was appointed president of the Department of Architects and was elected to the same position, of the now autonomous Department, in 2021. Since 2019, he has been teaching in the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program of the Polytechnic School of A.U.Th. "Protection, Maintenance and Restoration of Cultural Monuments".
