Stylianidis Kosmas-Athanasios

Professor Emeritus Kosmas Stylianidis studied at the Department of Civil Engineering, A.U.Th. with a scholarship during the period 1967-1972. He served at A.P.Th. for 40 years (1975 – 2015), where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses on earthquake-resistant structures, reinforced concrete and masonry structures and redesign of conventional buildings, historic buildings and monuments.

He is a speaker in about 90 Seminars, participated in 50 Research Programs, is the author of many university books and student notes as well as about 200 scientific articles in magazines and conferences. He participated in approximately 50 doctoral theses review committees and 35 advisory committees for university positions.

 

Member of many national and international committees and chambers, reviewer of international journals, member of regulatory editorial boards.

Director of the Laboratory of Reinforced Concrete and Load-bearing Masonry Constructions of the Department of Civil Engineering, Athens, 2004-2010.

Director of the Construction Department of the Department of Civil Engineering, Athens University, 2002-2004.

Vice-president of the Technical Council of A.P.Th., 2004-2007.

Representative of the A.P.Th. in the Board of Directors of the A.H.E.P.A. Hospital, 2002-2005.

Regular member of the Board of Directors of the Center for the Preservation of Agiorite Heritage (KEDAK), 2010-2021.

President of the Board of Directors of the Organization for Earthquake Planning and Protection (OASP), 2010-2014.

Member of the Permanent Scientific Committee for the Assessment of Short-term Seismicity Evolution 2010-2017.

Member of the Central Council of Newer Monuments (KSNM) of the Ministry of Culture 2019-present

Member of the ELOT/TE 67 Committee, 2014-present.

Member of the Drafting Committee of the Regulation of Interventions in buildings made of Reinforced Concrete (KANEPE) and of the Drafting Committee of the corresponding Regulation of Interventions in buildings made of Load-bearing Masonry (KADET) under formulation.

Member of study groups in approximately 90 important special studies, most of which refer to matters of valuation and redesign of conventional buildings, listed buildings and monuments made of reinforced concrete and load-bearing masonry.
