Anastasios Tantsis received an Architect's degree from the A.P.Th. in 1997. He completed postgraduate studies in Byzantine Archeology in 2001, while in 2008 he received the title of Doctor from the Department of History and Archeology of the Athens University of Athens. Between 2005-2007 he was an International Visiting Scholar at UIUC, USA. He was an IKY scholarship holder throughout his postgraduate studies. He worked as a freelancer and collaborated with Katerina Tsigarida Architects. He served as an architect in the Department of Traditional Settlements and in the Department of Preserved Buildings of the Ministry of the Aegean. He was a teacher P.D. 407 in the department of architects of the University of Thessaly in the years 2010-2014. In 2012 he was elected Lecturer in the Department of History and Archeology of the University of Athens. while at the same time he teaches at the Department of Architects and the DPMS Protection, Maintenance and Restoration of Cultural Monuments of the Polytechnic School of the University of Athens. He participated in the Excavation of the University of Thessaly in Vasiliki in the castle of Melivoia. Since 2012, he has been participating in the University Excavation of A.P.Th. in Philippi and since 2014 in Mochlos Sitias. He participated in two Cultural Heritage digitization research projects. In 2012, his book Architectural Composition in Byzantium was published by University Studio Press.
